Chiropody

A chiropodist is a primary health care provider, described as a foot specialist, who provides a
variety of medical services ranging from nail and skin care, diabetic foot care, to orthotics and
in-office surgeries. Practitioners in the US, or those who came to Ontario before 1993, are
referred to as Podiatrists while those who came after 1993 or are educated in Ontario are
called Chiropodists.

Eric Docherty BSC (Hons), D. Ch

Eric Docherty D.Ch., H.BSc. works as a registered Chiropodist at the Southmount Physiotherapy Foot Care Clinic & Orthotic Centre . Born and raised in Hamilton, Eric completed his undergraduate Honours Bachelor of Science degree at McMaster University. While studying for Human Anatomy & Physiology courses during his undergrad, Eric realized his calling was in the healthcare field. It wasn’t until exploring different branches of the medical field Eric stumbled upon the exciting and growing field of Chiropody. Once he enrolled in the Chiropody program at the Michener Institute in Toronto, Eric knew he could make a positive impact in patient’s lives.
